The new year kicked off with a puppet theatre from Berlin/Passau, which was developed as a commissioned production for the Brucknergesellschaft Linz and also premiered at the Brucknerhaus in Linz in 2024. In the original cast, Annika Pistl and Dorothee Carls of the ensemble "Die Exen" played the various roles in the play and were again musically accompanied by the Spring String Quartet from Linz. "The Strange Mr. Bruckner" is a homage to the 200th birthday of the famous composer. A birthday serenade woke the world-famous composer Anton Bruckner from his eternal rest. Happy about the change, - "I have time, I'm already dead" - he begins to talk about his life personally: How he dared to break new artistic ground ahead of his time and created unforgettable masterpieces. In spite of his intellectual enviousness. They made life difficult for him. Hardly anyone believed that the former village teacher could reach such heights. Nevertheless, Bruckner continued to work undeterred. And he would probably also finish his 9th Symphony, but "wait, that's not possible, I'm already dead."
The two actresses let Anton Bruckner in particular and the many characters who had a significant influence on his life tell his life story in a rousing way, magnificently accompanied by specially arranged Bruckner works for strings. The quartet with Christian Wirth violin, Markus Wall violin, Julian Gillesberger viola and Stephan Punderlitschek cello gave a wonderful impression of the diversity of its compositions. With standing ovations, the enthusiastic audience said goodbye to the actresses and the musicians.
