How often do our own memories surprise us. They seem to come out of nowhere and connect us to the past, whether it was an outstanding, single event or something of everyday that we have experienced countless times. This is the central theme of the new exhibition in the Stadtstadel. In short, with the wonderful title "Echo of Thoughts", which the painter Anja Nürnberg from Halle has given to her exhibition.
Her pictures do not show personal experiences or scenes. They are approximations of what we have all seen and what evokes our own memories.
The artist Anja Nürnberg presented her exhibition in a very impressive way, explaining her working method and the choice of her subjects, which are closely linked to the experiences of her youth as the so-called third generation East. It was an exciting walk through the pictorial world of Anja Nürnberg, which Larissa Richter, pianist and composer from Munich, accompanied on the grand piano with modern compositions by Benjamin Britten, Max Richter, Joep Beving, John Cage and Yann Tiersen. A special highlight was a musical riddle: a piano improvisation to one of the paintings, which the artist Anja Nürnberg guessed right away. The enthusiastic audience used the time to look at the works intensively and to exchange ideas with the artist. A successful start.
