This is the third anniversary of the visit of the Weite Theater from Berlin in Kempten. Adapted to the premises of the Stadtstadel, the actresses showed two spectacular performances with their large hand puppets, made by the theatre's stage designers according to the respective play, which dealed profoundly with human needs.
"ARTHUR AND THE WOMEN OF THE ROUND TABLE"
For the older visitors, Christine Müller and Dorothee Carls presented a variation of the medieval fable, the play "Arthur and the Women of the Round Table", which is closely based on the stage play by Tankred Dorst "Merlin or The Desert Land".
In a fascinating way and with outstanding vocal and physical encouragement in the multitude of different roles, the two took the audience into the medieval events of the Camelot castle, which were characterized by love, hate and resentment. The deep struggle between good and evil, the sorcery of Merlin and the activities of the devil determined the courtly intrigues and power games. In the end, it becomes clear that it was the women who have always influenced the course of the world. Much was to be seen and heard that we still know today. Only the medieval castle is no longer the place of action.
