Maria, a ten-year-old girl, can retell films so vividly and dramatically that the whole village flocks to be enchanted by her. The musical theater “Die Filmerzählerin”, based on the novel of the same name by Hernán Rivera Letelier, is a declaration of love to cinema and the art of imagination. Magnificently staged in all reduction by Jordi Villadaga, sensitively performed by Rachel Matter and musically directed by Murat Parlak, the production by Theater Ariane Winterthur from 2024 also came to the stage of the Stadtstadel. The unconventional story provides information about actual events in Chile, is moving and makes you think, framed by harmonious music - an unusual mix. Christine Krämer's exhibition became part of the stage set in a wonderful way. The audience was enthusiastic and is looking forward to more from the genre of musical theater.
