Sometimes it’s chance that conjures up the extraordinary moments in life. Such was the case in the musical city of Vienna, where I received a recommendation for the concert. And thus, the Joolaee Trio came to Kempten.
Founded only in 2021, the Joolaee Trio swiftly conquered the stages of many European countries. At the Stadtstadel concert, it was the blend of the familiar with the exotic, the courage to embrace the new, and their own musical narrative that made the performance unforgettable for all attendees. Composer and Kamantsche player Misagh Joolaee, along with his trio partners Schaghajegh Nosrati on piano and Sebastian Flaig on percussion, surprised the audience with great rhythmic originality and lyrical stories. Their virtuoso performances intertwined classical European music with the classical music of Persia and the world of jazz.
The audience was captivated by the interplay between the instruments and the unusual playing style, which transported the familiar sounds of the piano into an unknown world. Musicians among the guests, in particular, found themselves in a wonderful dialogue. Salon art that connects and invites conversation.
